Born in 1961, Keith's formal musical education was in piano playing, so reading and musical theory
skills were established early. And then came Queen, specifically Bohemian Rhapsody - from then on,
Keith has played guitar. Of Queen Keith says 'I learnt to listen, they were so different. I loved Rock,
the liberation it caused in so many areas'.
His expertise developed as he progressed through his band
experiences of the 80's, playing first, bass in a group for which he was composing pieces - He graduated
from electric guitar to acoustic, built up a classical repertoire - his first solo Album came out in 1988.
He began to get bookings to play solo at festivals, including Kings Lynn, Cheltenham and Sidmouth,
and throughout Gloucestershire, in folk, blues and rock venues.
Keith has always been inspired by the beauty and power of landscape, be it mountain, pastoral of
Spain or Gloucestershire. Moving five yeas ago to live on the Severn Estuary with
his partner Patricia, and being able to have a small studio here, has underpinned his 'now' music.
The dominant theme of the most recent CDs has been the power of the Severn in all her moods, and
the huge changing sky, with its fickle river - light. A maturity and emerging reflective quality
is present in these compositions, coupled with his ever present meticulous playing, whether mirroring
storm or tranquillity.
